Men's Golf Enters Top Five Through Second Round at ASUN Championship

VALDOSTA, Ga. - North Florida men's golf made the necessary adjustments after day one to shoot the third-best score in the second round at 9-under moving into the top five at the ASUN Championship on Wednesday afternoon.

The Ospreys had four of their five players card scores under par in round two with redshirt senior Jason Duff scoring the best mark at 4-under 68. Danny Erickson joins Duff in the top 20 overall with a 2-under combined scored, while Filippo Serra is the third UNF player to hold a score under par through a pair of rounds.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Duff jumped into the top 10 of the player's leaderboard with six birdies, including four through his first seven holes.
  • The redshirt senior continues to do with on par-five holes with a top-four scoring average (5-under).
  • Erickson stayed consistent in the second round with four birdies on the day to be the second Osprey in the top 20.
  • Serra scored three birdies over four holes to start the front nine in Valdosta with only one hole worse than par to be top 25 overall.
  • The redshirt sophomore also goes into the final round with the best par-five scoring average (6-under).
  • Justin Ross notched back-to-back birdies to help him reach the best par-three scoring average (2-under).
  • Brett Schell holds a two-stroke lead for the most birdies in the field with 13 total.
  • UNF holds the second-best par-three average (1-under) and par-five average (12-under) after the second round.
  • The Ospreys are third in birdies with 40 total, along with 106 total and an eagle from the opening round.
