Espy and Feliciano Sanchez Earn ASUN Pair of the Week Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday that the No. 16-ranked North Florida beach volleyball tandem of junior Madison Espy and senior Mariana Feliciano Sanchez were named ASUN Pair of the Week.

It is the second conference nod for UNF this season after the junior pair Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy secured the same honor on Mar. 5.

Espy and Feliciano Sanchez went 4-0 without dropping a set at the two line at the ASUN Midseason Tournament from Mar. 28-29. The tandem is now an undefeated 12-0 on the season. Feliciano Sanchez also recorded the 75th win of her career – one of four players in program history to surpass the mark.

The pair defeated four conference opponents over the tournament, all in straight sets, with wins over Austin Peay (21-9, 21-16), North Alabama (21-15, 21-15), Eastern Kentucky (21-15, 21-14) and Central Arkansas (21-12, 21-17).

North Florida travels to Laguana Beach, Calif., to battle five-ranked opponents, including four ranked inside the top 10, at the Laguna Beach Best in the West from Apr. 4-6.
