Box Score GAINSEVILLE, Fla. – North Florida baseball battled to tie the game in the fifth inning before it ultimately fell at Florida, 8-3, at Condron Family Ballpark on Tuesday night.
North Florida threatened in the first inning with a leadoff single from redshirt sophomore

Cade Bush and senior
Connor Moore drew consecutive walks to place runners on first and second with one out before Florida was able to get out of the initial jam. Florida got on the board first with a pair of solo home runs in the bottom of the first.
Sophomore
Mitchell Collins crushed a solo home run to right to cut the margin in half in the second inning. Facing two outs with a runner on first base, the Ospreys drew consecutive walks to have the bases loaded. Florida limited damage once more with an inning-ending strikeout.
The Gators added another run in the bottom of the third inning to push the margin to 3-1.
North Florida tied the score in the fifth inning with a solo shot from Bush before it added another run on a Gators' throwing error to knot the score at three. Redshirt sophomore left hander
Josh Cone turned in a 1-2-3 fifth inning to keep the score tied.
Florida plated five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to retake the lead.
Redshirt junior
James Oman led off the ninth inning with a walk and Bush picked up his second extra-base hit of the night with a double down the right-field line to place runners on second and third with no outs. Senior
Jabin Bates pinch hit and drove in the final run with a RBI groundout.
