Men's Golf Continues Second Round at The Hayt

Duff Dominates Round Two With 4-Under 68 Score

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - North Florida men's golf had multiple players step up, including redshirt senior Jason Duff, in the second round of The Hayt on Sunday afternoon at Sawgrass Country Club.

Duff carded the best score by an Osprey of the tournament weekend so far with a 4-under 68 score on the second day of play to be tied for 17th overall. He notched five birdies, including a pair that were back-to-back to notch four over a span of eight holes near the end of the round.

Filippo Serra joined Duff with a consistent round to sit right behind the senior with a share of 21st overall. They each are among the top players in terms of pars as well combining for 51 total over their 36 holes played.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Duff had an early bogey but bounced back by being perfect all the way through with five birdies in the second round.
  • He went back-to-back birdies twice on the front nine to go 4-under over a span of eight holes in his 4-under day.
  • Serra remains in the mix at the top of the leaderboard with a 1-under combined score after notching a pair of birdies in round two.
  • Duff is fourth in the field in pars with 26 total, while Serra follows closely behind with 25 total.
  • Erickson's second round was highlighted by an eagle on the eighth hole to help card a 1-over 73 day.
  • Brett Schell increased his birdie count with four total on Sunday, including three over the last eight holes.
  • Adam Vermut started his day with a birdie and added three more to match Schell's four as well.
  • Justin Ross is the third Ospreys inside the top 25 on the leaderboard sitting at even-par combined unattached.
  • Chase Carroll played well alongside Ross unattached to the team score with a trio of birdies at Sawgrass.
  • Both Ross and Duff are top 10 in par-three scoring average keeping an even-par pace.
  • Five of the seven UNF players in The Hayt recorded better scores in the second round on Sunday.
