No. 19 Beach Volleyball Heads To FGCU Inaugural Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 19-ranked North Florida beach volleyball travels to Fort Myers, Fla. to compete in the FGCU Inaugural Tournament, held at the FGCU Beach Volleyball Courts on Friday and Saturday, March 7-8.

In addition to North Florida, the five-team field includes a pair of ranked opponents in No. 14 FIU and No. 20 Stetson, South Carolina, who is receiving votes in the latest poll, and host Florida Gulf Coast.

North Florida opens play on Friday with South Carolina at 10 a.m. and No. 20 Stetson at 4 p.m. North Florida returns to the sand to battle Florida Gulf Coast at 10 a.m. and No. 14 FIU at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The 8-0 start marks the best in program history and the first time that North Florida has opened its season undefeated through a pair of weekends. The Ospreys have recorded sweeps in three-straight duals and four of their last five.

The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday that junior pair Presley Murray and Mackenzie Murphy were named ASUN Pair of the Week. Murray and Murphy posted a 4-0 record at the top line, all wins which came in straight sets, in their latest action at the DUUUVAL Duals on Feb. 28-March 1. The Ospreys' top tandem extended their win streak to eight-straight matches to start the season.

North Florida was slotted at No. 19 in the 2025 AVCA Collegiate Beach Coaches Top 20 Week Two Poll on Tuesday. North Florida achieved a season-best ranking of No. 18 in the preseason edition of the poll back on Feb. 13.
