DIAMOND PREVIEW: at Charge On Classic / vs Mount St. Mary's

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball will face a four-game slate at the Charge On Classic hosted by UCF from Feb. 28 through Mar. 1 in Orlando, Fla., followed by a home game against Mount St. Mary's on Sunday, Mar. 2, at UNF Softball Complex.

The Ospreys will start with games against Georgia Southern and Providence on Feb. 28 to go along with George Mason and UCF on Mar. 1. They will then travel home for their single-game matchup against the Mountaineers set for 3 p.m.

The Ospreys have won four of their last five games most recently at the Make It Happen Games with a pair of wins over Cornell and Siena. Allison Benning was named ASUN Player & Pitcher of the Week for her performances last weekend, including a perfect game in the finale.

All games at UCF will be streamed through ESPN+. There will be no stream available for UNF's home game against Mount St. Mary's. Updates for all games will be made through live stats, as well as on X/Twitter at @OspreySB and Instagram at @OspreysSB.

MADIERA BEACH, Fla. - For the second time in D-I program history and the fifth time all-time, North Florida softball delivered a perfect-game performance on the back of seven flawless innings from two-way star Allison Benning to close out the Make It Happen Games with a 6-0 win against Siena on Sunday afternoon.

The Ospreys earned its fourth win of the weekend and 14th victory overall this season in spectacular fashion in the circle. It was the first perfect game by UNF since Morgan Clausen achieved the feature on Feb. 29, 2020, against Stony Brook in a 1-0 win.

Benning ended the weekend with one of the best stat lines that will ever be seen from a two-way player. She batted .700 with three homer, eight RBI and 11 intentional walks, while pitching a 2-0 weekend with 15 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched to go along with no earned runs and one hit allowed in her two appearances (.027 opponent BA).
