
McKnight, Dawson Collect ASUN Weekly Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida volleyball graduate outside hitter Kailey McKnight and freshman setter Sofia Dawson earned ASUN Conference Weekly honors on Monday.
For the first time since 2021, North Florida earned two ASUN weekly honors in the same week. It marked the first career weekly honor for both McKnight and Dawson.
North Florida notched victories against Jacksonville in the River City Rumble on Thursday and at North Alabama on Sunday.
McKnight earned ASUN Player of the Week after setting a new career-high with 24 kills to go with 50 total attacks on .360 hitting with six digs against Jacksonville. Just three days later, the graduate outside hitter surpassed 1,000-career kills with another 20+ kill match with 22 total in a win at North Alabama. McKnight registered a double-double at UNA with 22 kills, 10 digs, two blocks and one ace. For the week, McKnight averaged 4.9 points per set and 4.6 kills per set.
Dawson earned ASUN Setter of the Week following a career-high 57 assists in a double-double to go with 14 digs, two aces, four kills and .333 hitting against Jacksonville. The freshman setter continued her stellar play with 44 assists to go with 13 digs in another double-double at North Alabama. For the week, Dawson averaged 10.1 assists per set.
North Florida continues its regular-season slate when it hosts Queens on Friday, Nov. 7. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at UNF Arena.
