
Women's Soccer Draws West Georgia, 1-1, To Conclude Regular Season

CARROLLTON, Ga. – North Florida Women's Soccer came away with a draw at West Georgia, 1-1, on Saturday afternoon at University Soccer Field to close out the regular season.
UNF moves to 7-8-4 overall and 5-3-2 in the ASUN Conference.
North Florida was dominant offensively during the first half of action firing off 14 shots, six shots on goal and holding West Georgia to only one shot, but the Ospreys were unable to find the net as the match remained scoreless at halftime.Â
The Ospreys broke through early in the second half when junior midfielder Zoe Looker scored on a header off a corner kick by senior midfielder Chloe Lynch in the 49th minute. The goal was Looker's second of her career, and the assist marked Lynch's third of the season.
West Georgia responded with a goal of their own during the 81st minute.Â
Leading the way for North Florida, redshirt junior forward/midfielder Isabella Pontieri secured a single-match career-high 13 shots and nine shots on goal with eight of those shots occurring in the first half.
The Ospreys would end the match with a season high 32 shots and 15 shots on goal for a 32-5 shot advantage with 13 different players tacking on at least one shot and six players registering two or more shots.
In total, 22 Ospreys saw action, with Looker, senior defender Brialyn Anderson and redshirt freshman goalkeeper Chrissa Avery each playing the full 90 minutes.
North Florida will face Eastern Kentucky in the ASUN Championship quarterfinals at Pickering Field in Fort Myers, Fla., on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 3Â p.m.Â
