Fekany Tallies Her First Goal of the Season
CARROLLTON, Ga. - North Florida women's soccer (5-3-3, 2-1-0 ASUN) earned its second-consecutive Atlantic Sun victory, overcoming West Georgia (1-8-0, 0-3-0 ASUN), 3-2 in a rain-riddled five-goal thriller on Thursday afternoon.Â
All five goals were scored in the first half, with Allie Fekany opening her account in the 14th minute before West Georgia equalized just 48 seconds later. Paige McSwigan slotted a free kick in the 33rd minute to regain the lead for the Ospreys, but once again the Wolves would find an equalizer in the 43rd minute. Right before halftime, McSwigan scored what would be the game-winning goal to secure her brace. The brace marked the second-straight game an Osprey has posted a brace.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at 7 p.m., but was moved up due to the threat of Hurricane Helene.
