Erickson Goes 3-Under 69 in Final Round at Valero Texas Collegiate

First Career Round in the 60s for Redshirt Freshman

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - Redshirt freshman Danny Erickson saved his best for last with a 3-under 69 score in the final round of just his second collegiate tournament at the Valero Texas Collegiate hosted by UTSA on Monday afternoon.

North Florida men's golf was led by the Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., native through all three rounds with his 2-over 218 score from this weekend's competition. He shined in his final two rounds with the Ospreys with scores of 72 and 69, as well as five birdies in the final of three rounds.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Erickson turned a rough first round on Saturday to entering the top-50 overall by the tournament's end with his 2-over 218 combined score.
  • He shot 4-under over the first nine holes of the final round and completed his day with five total birdies.
  • The redshirt freshman combined for 13 birdies in his second career start for the Ospreys.
  • Brett Schell put together a strong finish with two birdies and a 2-under mark over the final six holes to come into the clubhouse at 3-over 75.
  • Jason Duff bounced back with a 1-over 73 score in the final round, while also being the team leader in pars with 37 total.
  • Three birdies from Filippo Serra in the final round matched his score from day two at 4-over 76 in the final round.
  • Justin Ross recorded a birdie and the team's only eagle to wrap up the team's score on Monday.
  • Alejandro Ramos match his second round score of 6-over 78 to finish out the extended weekend as an unattached individual.
  • The Ospreys finished the tournament with 147 total pars and 37 total birdies.
