JACKSONVILLE - North Florida women's soccer's Zara Siassi collected her third straight Preseason All-ASUN selection as the Ospreys were tabbed to a sixth place finish in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday afternoon.

"Zara has anchored our backline since her freshman season and year in and year out has been one of the top defenders in our conference" said head coach Eric Faulconer. "She is our leader and the heart and soul of this program. I know our entire team will be excited to see Zara receive this recognition. She has been a tremendous ambassador of our program, the athletic department, and our university. I am happy that the coaches in our league recognize her talents and this early season accolade is very well deserved."

Over the course of four seasons, Siassi has yet to miss a game, making 62 starts and logging over 5,000 minutes played. Last season, she led the team with 1,426 minutes, playing the full 90 in 12 out of 18 matches.

On Aug. 22, she was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week after posting back-to-back clean sheets. She recorded an assist in a 3-0 victory over Austin Peay on Sept. 24 and earned postseason All-ASUN Second Team honors as well.

As a team, UNF received 92 votes, predicting a sixth place finish for the Ospreys. Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama, Central Arkansas and Lipscomb make up the top-five, with FGCU picked to finish first.

The Ospreys kick off the season on August 15 in Coral Gables, Fla. against Miami (FL) with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
