
Women's Golf Adds Kaitlyn Schroeder to '24 Signing Class

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's golf brings in an important piece to its 2024-25 roster with the addition of top-ranked recruit Kaitlyn Schroeder, as announced by Director of Golf Scott Schroeder on Monday afternoon.
"Kaitlyn [Schroeder] has been around the men's program for a long time, so she knows what the expectations are for both of the programs when coming back to UNF," said Director of Golf Scott Schroeder. "As a dad, it will be fun to be have her around every day, but more importantly is I expect her to positively effect the work ethic and culture of both programs moving forward."
Schroeder becomes the highest ranked recruit out of high school & junior/amateur golf to sign with the Osprey program. As a three-time All-American and the 2022 AJGA Rolex Player of the Year, she looks to make her mark as a transfer from Alabama with three full seasons left of eligibility.
"Kaitlyn [Schroeder] is a great player and has represented the Jacksonville community well throughout her junior and college career," said associate women's head coach Courtney Cobb. "We are excited for her to come back home and be an Osprey!"

Prior to UNF: One of two UA freshman to see action in three events of the fall 2023 season...concluded the fall season with an overall stroke average of 74.00 and average vs. par +2.00...enrolled at Alabama in January for the 2023 spring semester and did not see any action...one of 70 golfers from around the nation to earn an invitation to compete at the 2023 Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Junior/Amateur: Ranked as the No. 1 player in the class of 2023 and the top-ranked junior girl's golfer with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA)...Augusta Women's National Amateur Invitee in 2023...made her LPGA debut when she played as an amateur at the Evian Championship...three-time AJGA All-American (2020-22) and First Team All-American in 2022...was also named to AJGA Second Team All-America in 2020 and 2021...named 2022 AJGA Rolex Player of the Year...won both the AJGA Rolex Girls Invitational and the Girls Junior PGA Championship in 2022...competed in the 2021 Team Junior Solheim Cup for Team USA...made the Round of 16 at the Women's Western Amateur and finished tied for fifth at the Sea Island Women's Amateur in 2024.
Personal: Born on Jan. 12, 2005...daughter of Scott and Wendy Schroeder...father, Scott, is Director of Golf at UNF...both parents were student-athletes at UNF as well...attended Florida Virtual for high school...plans to major in business management.
Chose UNF because "going through the recruiting process a second time, I knew I wanted to find somewhere with a great team culture and coaching staff while trying to get closer to home, which UNF offers me. Being from Jacksonville, I am really excited to be moving back to my hometown. Also with my dad now becoming Director of Golf and being over both programs, it was such an amazing opportunity to now get to play college golf for him. I couldn't be more excited for the next three years!"
