CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - North Florida women's golf gained selections from Christin Eisenbeiss, Jessie Cai, One Kashima, Kaitlynn Washburn and Helen Zhou into the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars Team, as released by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Each of the five players selected by the WGCA were major contributors to the program's success during last season's competition. UNF has shown academic success year-in and year-out, as the entire nine-player team was selected to the ASUN Honor Roll earlier this summer.

Eisenbeiss headlines the group of Ospreys into the WGCA All-American Scholars Team with her fourth career selection to the team. She also garnered back-to-back ASUN Golfer of the Year, ASUN All-Academic Team and CSC Academic All-District honors this past season.

Washburn boasts the top GPA of the group with a 4.0 mark in marketing with Eisenbeiss not far behind with a 3.94 GPA in marketing as well. Kashima recorded a 3.83 GPA in kinesiology, followed by Cai's 3.80 GPA in finance and Zhou's 3.76 GPA in sport management.

Along with Eisenbeiss' fourth career selection, this is also Cai and Washburn's third selections by WGCA in their careers. It is the eighth consecutive season that UNF has had at least one honoree, while the Ospreys have landed on the squad in 11 of the last 12 years and the fifth straight year that there have been at least five UNF golfers selected for this recognition.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

To be selected per the WGCA, a student-athlete must:
  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
