Men's Golf Concludes Season at NCAA Championship

Gabrelcik Advances to Final Round of Stroke Play

CARLSBAD, Calif. - North Florida men's golf concluded yet another historic season in the third round of the NCAA Championship with a final score of 57-over to wrap up team play with a 29th overall finish on Sunday afternoon. 

Senior Nick Gabrelcik secured his spot as one of the top-nine individuals not on an advancing team to advance to an additional day of stroke play on Monday to crown the 72-hole individual champion, finishing tied for 18th overall out of a 150-man field, with an even-par round for the second day in a row. 

The final round of stroke play will be available to watch on the Golf Channel and Peacock with coverage starting at 3:00 p.m. PT.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Gabrelcik rounded out team play tied for 18th overall, tallying a 2-over 218 combined score. 
  • The senior finished in the top-ten for most birdies with a total of 11 after his four in the final round. 
  • He also ranked second overall in par-five average score (5-under) among all players in the field. 
  • Robbie Higgins concluded his collegiate career with eight pars and two birdies to finish tied at 126th overall and 18-over 234 combined.
  • The fellow senior led the team with 34 total pars.
  • Jason Duff kicked the day off with a birdie while recording eight pars to finish tied for 130th at 19-over 235 combined. 
  • Davis Lee picked up a pair of birdies, while going 10-over 82 on the day to match Duff and finish tied for 138th overall. 
  • Andrew Riley led the team with nine pars on the day, while tallying a birdie to finish with a combined score of 23-over 239 and 140th overall. 
  • The Ospreys finished with a top-15 par-three average mark (19-over) and the 20th-best par-five average score (2-over). 
  • UNF totaled 120 pars and 16 birdies through three rounds of team play in California.
