
Kashima Crushes Opening Round at Chattanooga Classic

Freshman Sits First Overall Though the First 18 Holes
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Freshman One Kashima was the star of the round for North Florida women's golf with her 4-under 67 opening round score to lead the entire field through 18 holes at the Chattanooga Classic hosted by Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys had great showings from Kashima, as well as Eisenbeiss with a top-16 showing in the first round, to start the tournament tied for third as a team. Kashima recorded five birdies with only one hole worse than par, while every other UNF golfer had a pair of birdies to add on to its first day of play.

North Florida will continue its regular season finale with the second round of the Chattanooga Classic on Monday, Apr. 8, starting at 12:10 p.m. CT paired with Western Kentucky and ETSU.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- One Kashima opened with birdie on the first hole and never looked back for a career-best 18-hole score of 4-under 67 to be in sole possession of first overall.
- The freshman shares the lead for par-four scoring average (2-under) and total birdies with five, while also being tied for second in par-three scoring average (1-under).
- Christin Eisenbeiss stayed consistent for UNF with a pair of birdies on the front nine, as well as pars on 10 of the last 11 holes, to be tied for 16th overall at 2-over 73.
- She currently leads the team in total pars going into the final two rounds with 13 on the day.
- Helen Zhou continues to build momentum over the past couples tournaments to start well at 5-over 76 and a share of 38th overall.

- The Ospreys finished round one with the second-best par-five average score (even-par), as well as a top-five par-four average score (9-over).
