FIRST PITCH - Baseball Host UCF in Midweek Showdown

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida baseball will face off against in-state opponent UCF for a second time this season, this time as the hosts on Tuesday, Apr. 30, with first pitch set for 6 p.m., at Harmon Stadium.

The Ospreys are coming off a series finale win where left-handed pitcher Tony Roca threw a complete-game shutout, which led to him being selected as ASUN Pitcher of the Week for a second time on the season. This will be the second of three separate midweek matches against the Knights with the third one occurring on Wednesday, May 8, in Orlando, Fla.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tony Roca fired a complete-game shutout, as North Florida (19-22, 9-12 ASUN) salvaged the finale and beat Stetson (28-16, 14-7 ASUN), 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.

The senior wrapped up his most stellar performance as an Osprey with a quick ninth to secure a complete game and Sunday victory. The lefty allowed just four hits, while striking out seven on 135 total pitches thrown. It is the third straight season an Osprey has thrown a complete game and is the first complete game shutout since Peter Holden against Kennesaw State in 2022.

UNF scored first in the fourth inning after Cade Bush snapped his home run drought with a solo homer over the batting facility giving the Ospreys a 1-0 lead. They then extended their lead in the eighth inning with Jakon Runnels cracking his team-leading ninth bomb of the season, which gave the Ospreys insurance to secure the series finale win.
