Men's Golf Enters Third Through Two Rounds at ASUN Championship

Higgins Moves Into Top Three Individuals After Bogey-Free Second Round

DOTHAN, Ala. - North Florida men's golf produced another solid round saving their best play of the day for the back nine holes to stay in the thick of the ASUN Championship in third-place overall through a pair of rounds on Monday afternoon.

The Ospreys were once again led by senior Robbie Higgins, who produced 14 straight pars, a pair of birdies over his last four holes and no score worse than par throughout the second round. Freshman Chase Carroll had an outstanding day two as well with three birdies on the final nine holes to share 11th overall.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Higgins leads the field in pars after the second day with 29 total looking for yet another ASUN All-Tournament finish at the conference meet.
  • The senior holds the second-best par-three scoring average at 1-under and the third-best par-four scoring average at 1-under.
  • Carroll went back-to-back birdies to start off the back nine in a even-par effort on the day in his jump to the top 11.
  • The true freshman also has the fifth-best par-five scoring average at 4-under and a top-eight par-four scoring average at 1-over.
  • Andrew Riley had a runs of four straight pars twice, but finished with two birdies, including the final hole of the day, to repeat his 3-over 75 score.
  • The junior transfer will go in the final round with a top-four par-four scoring average at even-par.
  • Jason Duff had a team-high four birdies in the second round with birdies at both ends of the turn to be 2-over 74 on the day.
  • The redshirt junior leads the entire field in par-five scoring average at 5-under.
  • Duff and Carroll share the team lead for birdies after 36 holes with seven total.
  • Davis Lee joins Duff and Carroll with a share of 30th overall to round out the group at 6-over 150 combined.
  • The fifth-year graduate golfer has recorded the sixth-most pars after Monday with 25 total.
  • The Ospreys are one of three teams with two players in the top 11 and the only team with all five players in the top 30 overall.
  • UNF not only leads the entire ASUN field in pars with 117 total, but also has the best par-four average score at 8-over.
  • They are fourth in par-five average scoring as well with an 11-under mark through two rounds.

North Florida finishes out its time in the ASUN Championship tournament in the final grouping of the day paired with Lipscomb and Central Arkansas on Tuesday, Apr. 22. The first Osprey will tee off at 8:50 a.m. CT, off the first hole.
