Men's Golf Starts With Share of Fourth at ASUN Championship

Higgins Leads Ospreys With Top-Six Score of 1-Under 71

DOTHAN, Ala. - North Florida men's golf gets off to a good start among the top four teams through the opening round of the ASUN Championship on Sunday afternoon.

The Ospreys were led by senior Robbie Higgins with a 1-under 71 score to share a placement inside the top six individuals in the conference field. He had a stellar finish over the final six holes with three birdies and three pars, including back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Higgins carded 1-under 71 in the first round in sights of yet another ASUN All-Tournament selection in 2024.
  • The senior with two All-ASUN selections finished his round tied for second in par-three scoring average at 1-under.
  • Davis Lee had seven straight pars to start and six straight pars to finish, with a pair of birdies over the five holes in between, to sneak into the top 20 at 1-over 73.
  • Higgins has a share of third for pars recorded in the first round at 14 total, while Lee joins him not far behind in the top six at 13 total.
  • Chase Carroll had the most birdies of any Osprey in the opening round with four total on his way to a 2-over 74 score and a share of 22nd overall.
  • His four birdies is top 10 among the field, while also having a top-eight standing in par-five scoring average at 2-under.
  • Andrew Riley placed just outside the top 25 of the player's leaderboard with his three birdies and a 3-over 75 mark.
  • Riley joins Higgins and Lee with a even-par par-four average to be top eight among the field.
  • Jason Duff notched 4-over 76 to complete the first 18 holes for the Ospreys at the conference tournament.
  • The redshirt junior leads all players in the conference field in par-five scoring average at 3-under.
  • The Ospreys are one of two teams to have all five golfers among the top 40 of the individual leaderboard.
  • UNF share second in the par rankings with 56 total, while being third in par-four average at 5-over and fourth in par-five average at 5-under.
