
Women's Golf Starts in Fifth at ASUN Championship

Zhou, Cai Lead Ospreys Tied For 11th Overall
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - North Florida women's golf had a quality opening round after initially start rough to be among the top five teams through the first day of the ASUN Championship on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys had their best rounds of the day come courtesy of Helen Zhou and Jessie Cai, who stepped up big as the fourth and fifth players for the team. Zhou started off hot with four birdies over the first 10 holes, while Cai saved her best for last with a pair of birdies on the back nine for them to share 11th overall at 2-over 74.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Zhou sunk three birdies over four holes in the first six holes of the day on her way to the 2-over performance.
- She ended her opening round with four birdies, which not only leads her team but it's also top-three in the field.
- Cai had one of her best rounds of the season maintaining a steady score through all 18 holes.
- Through 18 holes, she has the third-best par-five average score at 1-under and the fifth-most pars with 13 total.
- Casilda Allendesalazar rode her good start of seven pars and two birdies over her first 10 holes to a 3-over 75 score to sit tied for 21st overall.
- She joins Zhou with a top-eight scoring average on par-four holes at even-par through the first round.
- One Kashima has a top-30 score as well for the Ospreys with three birdies to be 4-over 76 in the first round.
- The freshman is among the top-10 mark in par-three scoring average at even-par.
- Christin Eisenbeiss rounded out the group with a bounce-back back nine to be 5-over 77 with a share of 36th overall.
- She also ended the day with the third-most pars in the field, which also leads her team at 14 total.
