JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After an excellent series against Eastern Kentucky, North Florida baseball (16-14, 6-6 ASUN) dropped its midweek game against Wofford (22-9), 10-4, on Wednesday evening at Harmon Stadium.
The Ospreys fell behind early, as Wofford put up a six spot in the second. A three-run double and a three-run home run off of starter
Will Ross put the Ospreys in a hole quickly. UNF cut the lead in half in the fourth and with the bases loaded,
Gabriel Esquivel and
Eric Fouraker drew run-scoring walks.
Drew Leinenbach followed with an RBI-single for the third run of the inning.
Wofford to apply pressure plating two in the sixth and seventh innings to put the game out of reach. UNF scratched across a run late on a
Fletcher Cline double, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
