JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men track & field battled hard on the final day of the Bob Hayes Invitational to finish the home outdoor debut weekend strong on Saturday evening at Visit Jax Track.

Rey Hernandez made his mark clinching a school record in the 400m for the Ospreys. Camden Springer sprinted quickly notching a third place mark in the same event.

Men

• Rey Hernandez rewrote program history with a new 400m record of, 47.55
• Hernandez snatched the first place rank overall 
• Camden Springer clinched third overall in the men's 400m 
• Jonathan Bailey smashed a phenomenal slot in second overall for the men's 100m clinching the race in 10.99. 
• Rey Hernandez marked second overall in the men's 200m 
• Springer solidified third in the 200m 

Women 

• Ella Chandler clinched a personal record in the women's 400m obtaining a lifetime mark of 56.71.
• Celine D'Anna notched third in the women's 400m.
• D'Anna clinched the race in, 58.77.
• Melissa Epting's fierce strides earned her a top five ranking in the women's 400m.

"Rey [Hernandez] ran a great 400m. It's a school record and a great way to kick off the season. Both he and Camden [Springer] did some nice work today. 
The women also ran well in the 400m. Ella [Chandler] is learning to run the open 400 and it was a good opportunity. Celine [D'Anna] continues to improve and backed up her hurdles race with a nice open 400."
