Midweek Preview - Baseball To Face #4/3 Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida baseball continues its season with two midweek games against #4/3 Florida. The Ospreys welcome the Gators to Harmon Stadium on February 20th, and face them in Gainesville on February 21st.

The Ospreys will host UF at Harmon Stadium for the first time since 2022. North Florida played at UF twice in 2023, dropping both games. First pitch is set for 6:00 on Tuesday. UNF’s midweek game in Gainesville is set for 6:30 on Wednesday.

UNF will broadcast Tuesday’s game on ESPN+. Updates for each game will be made through live stats, as well as on X/Twitter at @OspreyBSB and Instagram at @OspreysBSB.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida split their Opening Day doubleheader against Delaware. The Ospreys would take game one, behind a four RBI day from Cade Bush. The offense slowed down in game two, as UNF fell to the Blue Hens. Head Coach Joe Mercadante collected his first UNF win in game one.

  • Florida leads the all-time series, 15-7 ... North Florida and UF played down in Gainesville twice last season, with Florida winning both games. UNF has not won a game against the Gators since February 20th, 2019. The Osprey’s are searching for their first win in Gainesville since 2013.
  • Florida comes in ranked No. 4 in the latest DI Baseball poll and No. 3 in the USA Today Coaches Poll as of Feb. 6.
  • The Gators have played only one game this season, as weather canceled their other two. They fell to St. Johns on Opening Day, losing nine to five.
  • UF is coming off a 2023 College World Series appearance, where they would fall in three games to LSU.
  • Florida is returning two-way player Jac Caglianone. Caglianone was selected to the 2024 All-American First Team by Perfect Game.
