Siassi Concludes UNF Career with Program-High 82nd Appearance
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's soccer's season came to a conclusion in the ASUN Championship Quarterfinals as the Ospreys (9-4-7, 6-2-4 ASUN) were clipped 1-0 in a tight battle with Eastern Kentucky (12-7-3, 9-3-1 ASUN) at Hodges Stadium on Sunday night.   Â
Despite outshooting the Colonels 18-3, the Ospreys were unable to find the back of the net against a tough Eastern Kentucky side. EKU found the game-winning goal in the 23rd minute to punch their ticket to the semifinals.Â
UNF finishes the 2024 season with a 6-1-4 record in games played at Hodges Stadium. Veteran defender Zara Siassi concludes her UNF career as the program record-holder for career starts and appearances as she made her 82nd consecutive collegiate start on Sunday night.Â

- First Half: The Ospreys applied pressure early, forcing a trio of shots in a rain-laden opening 20 minutes … in the 23rd minute Eastern Kentucky opened the score after Greta Gunn made her way around goalkeeper Sofia Miliancano and found the back of the net … UNF pushed for an equalizer for the remainder of the period, outshooting the Colonels 9-1 at halftime despite being down a goal.Â
- Second Half: The Ospreys continued to apply pressure to the EKU backline out of the break … Bella Pontieri attempted a spectacular free-kick in the 52nd minute, but her shot sailed just over the bar … in the 73rd minute, Jersi Dadah played a cross into Kayla Bond whose shot was saved by keeper Marah Krick … the Ospreys kept pushing in the final minutes, but were unable to find an equalizer bringing their season to a close. Â
