UNF Extends Unbeaten Run to Ten Games

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's soccer clinched a top-four seed in the 2024 Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament as the Ospreys (9-3-7, 6-1-4 ASUN) took down cross-town rivals Jacksonville (4-10-3, 3-6-2 ASUN), 3-1 in the River City Rumble regular season finale on Thursday evening.

Allie Fekany opened the scoring in the 39th minute, heading in a corner from Chloe Lynch. Lynch extended the Ospreys lead in the 53rd minute, curling a dazzling free-kick over the head of the Jacksonville keeper to make it 2-0. The Dolphins cut the deficit to one just three minutes later, but Jersi Dadah sealed the win for UNF in the 74th minute with a powerful strike into the roof of the net.

With tonight's victory, the Ospreys improve to 10-straight games unbeaten, it is currently the longest streak in the program's Division I era.

Inside the Match

First Half: The Ospreys had the advantage through the opening 20 minutes of the match, outshooting the Dolphins 4-1 … in the 40th minute, Chloe Lynch whipped a corner into the box, finding the head of Allie Fekany, who nodded home her third goal of the season to put UNF in front … The Osprey defense stood strong for the remaining minutes of the half, going into the halftime break with a one-goal advantage.
Second Half: Just eight minutes into the second period, the Ospreys won a free-kick outside of the Dolphins box … Lynch stepped up and curled a shot over the head of Pia Bozic to extend the Ospreys lead … three minutes later Olivia Peal found the back of the net for Jacksonville to make it a 2-1 game … in the 74th minute, Brooke Susi played a ball to Jersi Dadah, who hit a beautiful strike past the keeper to secure the Ospreys first River City Rumble win since 2021 … North Florida improves to 10-straight games unbeaten, the longest streak in the program's Division I era.
