JACKSONVILLE - Cohen Kooker becomes the second North Florida women's cross country athlete of the season to be awarded ASUN Women's XC Freshman of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
"Cohen [Kooker] has made a nice transition to college. She is dedicated and works hard," said head coach
Jeff Pigg. "She has been great here at UNF and I am proud to see her earn ASUN Freshman of the Week."
The Norwalk, Iowa, native clinched a time of 21:42.3 for a personal-best mark in the 6k race at the Crimson Classic hosted by Alabama. Not only is Kooker the second all-time female Osprey to earn a freshman weekly distinction from the conference, but she does it following up
Madeline Castillo's first-ever honor just two weeks ago in Missouri.
Kooker and the Ospreys will next be seen in postseason competition at the ASUN XC Championships on Friday, Nov. 1, at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Fla.
