WILMINGTON, N.C. - North Florida men's golf showed out in its first day of play with three players in the top 30, including
Jason Duff tied for fourth at 2-under 70, in the first round of the Williams Cup hosted by North Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys combined to hit 13 birdies among its top four scorers with Duff receiving the team-high mark with five total in the opening round.
Chase Carroll made his return to starting lineup with an even-par round to be inside the top 15 overall, while
Filippo Serra impressed as well among the top 30 individuals.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Duff was great from start to finish with four birdies on the front nine and bogey-less golf on the back nine to be among the top five at 2-under 70.
- The redshirt senior is currently top four in par-five average at 2-under and birdies with five total, as well as top 10 in par-four average at even-par.
- Carroll joined Duff with bogey-less golf in the back nine, ending his round with back-to-back birdies for even-par in 13th overall.
- The sophomore goes in round two with a top-three standing in par-four average at 2-under and a top-five mark in pars with 14 total.
- Serra scored 10 straight pars to start his tournament performance to be 2-over 74 on the day tied for 28th overall.
- The redshirt sophomore leads the entire tournament in pars with 16 total as well.
- Brett Schell was right behind Duff in birdies, as he went 3-under over his last six holes with three birdies over four holes to crack the top 50.
- The sixth-year graduate has the second-best par-five scoring average at 3-under and a top-10 mark in birdies with four total.
- Danny Erickson finished his round with a top-10 mark in par-five average at 1-under to wrap up the team's day.
- The Ospreys shined on par-five holes to start the tournament with a five-under mark, which is the second-best at the event.
- UNF recorded 57 total pars and 13 total birdies from its five players in the opening round on Sunday.
