UNF Athletics Reaches Record Donor Total During “904Weekend”

$28,893 Raised With the Help of 331 Donors Going Towards SACE Study Space
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Athletics' "Soaring to Success" #904Weekend fundraising efforts were a success once again for the 2023 rendition of the annual initiative, with a record 331 donors contributing a combined $28,893 towards improving the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE) study space.
"I'm amazed by the support of Osprey Nation's generosity once again this #904Weekend," Director of Athletics Nick Morrow said. "Our goal to improve the student-athlete experience has been made possible through the support of 331 donors as we strive to improve the SACE study space."
With the generosity of Osprey Nation and efforts by the UNF Athletics community and development staff, UNF reached a 72 percent increase in total donors from FY23. Over half of this year's gifts were of $90.40 or more, good for 177 of the 334 total gifts.
"I am blown away by the support of our Osprey Family," Assistant AD for the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence Tara Sunquist said. "We are so excited to enhance our academic space to reflect the elite academic accomplishments of our student-athletes. This is an investment that will benefit every student-athlete for years to come."
Since the inaugural #904Weekend in 2020, North Florida Athletics has had growth in total dollars earned as well as donors. During that period, UNF has seen a 50 percent increase in donors and 78 percent in dollars raised.
"Providing an environment in which our student-athletes can excel academically is a huge priority for UNF Athletics and our annual #904Weekend helps us accomplish this goal," Senior Associate AD of Development Matthew Lisiewski said. "We are so thankful for the passionate alumni, friends and family who supported us during #904Weekend. Swoop!"
