Ospreys Have 10-Match Winning Streak Snapped

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis had its 10-match winning streak as well as its 10th appearance in the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship come to a close Friday as the No. 75 Ospreys (18-7) dropped its NCAA Championship First Round matchup to host No. 16 Florida (17-7) Friday, May 5.

Despite the loss, North Florida finished the year ranked in the latest ITA poll, earned their 10th ASUN Championship Title, seventh ASUN Regular Season Title and 10th overall appearance in NCAA postseason play as a DI program.

Kit Gulihur will finish out the entirety of UNF's season representing the Ospreys in the NCAA Singles Championships later this month.

How it Happened
Annabelle Davis and Jasmin Makela pushed Emma Shelton and Sophie Williams to the brink but their doubles match was left unfinished as UF won at the top two doubles positions.

The Gators would clinch singles at the fourth slot as UF sent three-ranked singles competitors to the courts.
