
Gulihur Poised for Second-Straight NCAA Singles Championship Appearance

Faces No. 4 Dasha Vidmanova of Georgia
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis' Kit Gulihur will make an appearance in the NCAA Singles Championship for the second-straight season as the reigning conference player of the year is set to face Georgia's Dasha Vidmanova in the NCAA First Round Monday, May 22 at 9 a.m.
No. 86 Gulihur goes up against No. 4 Vidmanova in the first match of the single elimination national championship tournament. The eventual national champion will have to win six matches in order to be crowned, with each round being played on separate days ranging from Monday, May 22 to Saturday, May 27.
Gulihur's dominance reigned supreme all season long with the nationally-ranked veteran riding a 22-match winning streak in singles play. This season Gulihur has gone 28-6 in singles play between tournament competition and at the top slot.Â
The graduate student is coming off consecutive league player of the year honors and is a three-time ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Gulihur was recently named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District after taking home NCAA Elite 90 distinction and CoSIDA Academic All-American.Â

Vidmanova is coming off an NCAA Championship Semifinals appearance as the Bulldogs advanced to the second-to-last round before falling to eventual-champion North Carolina.Â
The Czech Republic native is 30-5 in singles play and 14-2 in tournament singles competition as of May 11. The underclassman appeared primarily at the second singles slot for UGA.
