Transfers in From Georgia State, Attended Clay High School
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- North Florida head women's soccer coach Eric Faulconer and staff announced the addition of graduate transfer and local product, Liz Anne Fogarty, to the 2023 roster.
The 5-10 midfielder will join the UNF program in August following two collegiate seasons at Georgia State and her freshman campaign at Mississippi State.
The versatile Fogarty hails from Orange Park, Fla., where she earned a three-star rating by Top Drawer Soccer coming out of Clay High School. Additionally, she played her club soccer for United Soccer Alliance, coached by Luis Torres. She was a four-sport standout at Clay as the kicker on the football team, all-region performer in golf, team MVP in flag football and multi-all-area pick in soccer.
Fogarty appeared in 5 matches at Mississippi State her freshman season and played in 21 matches with 16 starts in 1,400 minutes at Georgia State. In 2019, Fogarty was tied for second on the team in goals with three, scoring against Davidson, UT Chattanooga and Louisiana Monroe. She got off to a hot start during her junior season, scoring goals versus Mercer and Appalachian State in two of her first three games before suffering a season ending-injury. She was a dean's list honoree every semester while attending Georgia State.
From Head Coach Eric Faulconer
"I have known Liz Anne for a long time and we are thrilled to provide her the opportunity to close out her career back home at UNF," stated Head Coach Eric Faulconer. "We are getting a very mature and super competitive player with this late addition to our roster. She is going to provide us with a lot of experience, size and a tremendous amount of versatility. Liz can play center back, anywhere in the midfield and at center forward. She has scored five times at the collegiate level, is powerful in the air and strikes the ball very well from long range. These were two elements that our 2022 team was lacking. I believe this is a tremendous addition to our program for a multitude of reasons and we are excited that Liz is now a member of our Osprey family."
