JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball will try to pull off the upset when it travels to play against No. 15 Florida on Wednesday, Apr. 12, at 6 p.m., in Gainesville, Fla.
After only losing to No. 6 Florida State and UCF by one run each on the road, the Ospreys look to earn their first win over the Gators in program history. They also will be searching for their first win since taking a doubleheader slate over Stetson on Mar. 25.

WHAT TO KNOW
- Four of their eight losses have come by one run in games against UCF, Jacksonville State and Liberty.
- The Gators will be the seventh of 10 opponents UNF will face from the state of Florida, as they have gone 7-3 during in-state matchups this season.
- After hosting UF for the first time last season, the Ospreys have their sights set on beating the Gators for the first time in program history.
- They also will look to improve on their 4-2 midweek record, as well as trying to pick up their first road win of the year.
- Shannon Glover holds the highest average for both conference and overall play with at least a hit in 11 of her past 14 games.
- She also added two home runs last weekend against Liberty to expand her team lead to seven total this season.
- Chloe Culp and Kayla Harper maintain averages over .300, as Culp has 31 RBIs and Harper has 20 stolen bases for the team lead in each.
- Glover's 42 hits and seven home runs, Culp's 31 RBIs and Harper's 20 stolen bases all rank within the top three of individuals in the conference.
- Harper has reached base in her past seven games, while Culp is not far behind with six as well.
- Both Ashley Connor and Izzy Kelly have 2.66 ERAs with 10 combined complete games.
- Connor leads the team with 74 strikeouts, 110.2 innings pitched and five total saves.
- Kelly holds the advantage for most wins with nine total, as well as the best ERA in ASUN games at 2.78.
- UNF has also overtaken the national ranks, as Conner sits fourth for saves (5), Culp sits 11th for doubles (13), Harper sits 32nd for steals (20).
OPPONENT NOTES
- Florida comes into the week with a 28-10 overall record, as well as a 17-3 record at home. This will be the third ASUN team that UF will play this season, after beating both Jacksonville and Stetson twice. They have gone 5-5 in their past 10 games after SEC series against Arkansas, South Carolina and Auburn. Two ranked wins highlights their season as well against No. T24 UL-Lafayette and No. 17 Arkansas. The Gators have top 10 ranks in the nation for on-base percentage, runs and batting average. Their top hitters are Skylar Wallace and Kendra Falby who each hit over .395 and have combined for 84 runs and 84 hits. Wallace also leads the team in home runs with nine total, while Charla Echols is the RBI leader with 46 total. The pitching staff contains three players with at least 30 strikeouts and ERAs under 2.25.
