UNF Volleyball Alumna Finishes in Top Ten in Multiple Statistical Categories
PIHTIPUDAS, Finland - After making a huge impact in one year as a graduate transfer with the UNF volleyball program, Dariana Hollingsworth-Santana continued that success to the professional level with a standout first year with Liigaploki Pihtipudas in Finland.
Hollingsworth-Santana is one seven UNF volleyball alumna to have played at the professional ranks during the school's DI era, dating back to 2005. This past year with Liigaploki, Hollingsworth-Santana was an immediate contributor, playing in 25 of 26 matches while finishing top ten in the league in points/set, points and reception percentage, while also hitting a scorching .380.
The San Juan, P.R., native ranked in the top 50 in seven statistical categories across the ten-team league, including going for 3.91 points/set, 160 kills and 28 aces. Her versatility shone through this past season, just as it did during her 2021 First Team All-ASUN season two falls ago.Â
Hollingsworth-Santana was also named ASUN Player of the Week Sept. 20, picking up two non-conference all-tournament selections while going for 372 kills, 35 aces, 272 digs and 57 blocks. She started all 32 matches in which she played at UNF, appearing in 119 while posting 22 double-digit kill performances among other all-league caliber matches.
Prior to her time in Jacksonville, Hollingsworth-Santana was a four-year letterwinner at Missouri, earning All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) honors with the Tigers. The Puerto Rican native also earned international competition with the U20 Puerto Rican National Team during multiple NORCECA Pan-American Cups.
