Fisher Also Placed Second Overall in 5000m Race
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -Â The North Florida women's outdoor track and field program fought to the finish line in several events at the Florida Relays on Friday. The women punched top-10 placements in both the 1500m and 5000m races, including a sixth-place finish by Emma Jane Schlageter in the 1500m.
Erica Fisher ran a great race in the women's 5000m as well, edging out runners from Florida, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Alabama. Fisher went for a top-two placement to finish a little over her personal best at 17:13.96.
"Emma Jane [Schlageter] ran a personal-best and competed very well in a hit 1500m race. Erica [Fisher] ran a very competitive race moving through the pack to finish second place. She continues to get better, as she is stacking healthy weeks of training together. Isa [Leen] also ran a good 5000m. She led by six seconds and I know they both will keep improving."
