Ospreys Down Terriers, 6-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida (1-0) men's tennis started its season off strong with a 6-1 victory over Wofford (0-3) Saturday. The win gives UNF a 17-1 record in home openers in the Division I era. This was the first meeting between the Terriers and the Ospreys.

Jonas Hartenstein and Rodrigo Crespo dominated, 6-0, in doubles play, followed by Andreas Scott and Breno Marques defeating their opponents, 6-2, giving the Ospreys the doubles point. The third court was left unfinished.

UNF maintained its lead, as Hartenstein won at the first slot in two slots, followed by Bruno Vietri, Scott, and Rodrigo Crespo doing the same. Breno Marques fell in a seven-point tiebreaker after three sets, yet Matt Carroll was able to give the Ospreys the 6-1 victory after winning 10-6 in a ten-point tiebreaker over the Terriers.

The Ospreys travel to Miami Friday, Feb. 10 to face the Hurricanes before returning to Jacksonville to host Georgia State.
