Coach Driscoll Earns 250th Victory of Head Coaching Career
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After holding a close margin to Trinity Baptist (4-3) in the first half, North Florida men's basketball broke out with 70 points scored in the second half to explode for a dominate 113-72 win against the Eagles to close out the calendar year at home on Saturday afternoon in UNF Arena.
The Ospreys had six double-digit scorers, including a career-high 22 points scored from true freshman Jasai Miles. He also notched nine rebounds to be one short of the double-double, while Ametri Moss also had 17 points and nine assists to be one short of a double-double as well.
With the win on Saturday, head coach Matthew Driscoll earned the 250th win of his heading coach career between his stints at La Roche College and North Florida. He currently has 224 wins as the head coach of UNF quickly approaching the quarter-century mark for his time in Jacksonville.

First Half
Ospreys took the tip and scored first in the contest with Nate Lliteras making a layup for the first points of the game...after back-and-forth scoring early, Jasai Miles evened the score with an and-one bucket at the 13:50 mark...an 11-2 run broke out for UNF coming out of the media timeout with Jah Nze and Dorian James both making threes for the first scores from beyond the arc...another scoring run of 11 straight points was capped off by a three from Lliteras and a layup from Moss...the Eagles fought back to close out the first half, but not before the Ospreys hit back-to-back deep shots to take a seven-point lead into the break.
Second Half
James and Lliteras started the scoring in the Ospreys' return on the court with a long makes...Lanier got in on the scoring party with a three and layup to keep the lead at 12 points...UNF broke out with its largest scoring run of the game, going 33-4 to extend the lead to 40 points in a matter of six minutes of playing time...TBC hit a couple threes, but Nze responded with a three as well to go along with Miles hitting a three from deep...the Ospreys capped up the win with a Jaylen Smith dunk to secure a 113-72 score in its last home game of 2023.
