Softball Set to Host Inaugural One Love Game Sunday

Ospreys Host UCF in Nine-Inning Exhibition

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball will host its inaugural One Love game against UCF on Sunday, Oct, 22, with first pitch set for 1 p.m., at UNF Softball Complex.

UNF will play a 9-inning exhibition game against the Knights as the softball program hosts its first-ever One Love foundation game. The foundation was created to honor the unnecessary and tragic death of Yeardley Love by engaging young people through compelling, relatable films and honest conversations around healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors.

Madison Schemitz was welcomed by the Osprey softball program and visited the team earlier this fall to share her story. The former softball player from Ponte Vedra HS survived an attack that left her paralyzed and is helping raise awareness for relationship abuse by starting a foundation chapter at her high school.

Schemitz, along with Sharon Love, the founder of One Love, and Kennedy Armstrong, will represent One Love by throwing out the first pitches before the exhibition on Sunday.
