JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's tennis put together an extremely successful first day of the spring season after tallying six singles wins and four doubles victories against Georgia Gwinnett and Buffalo on the opening day of the UNF Hidden Duals Friday, Jan. 13.
South African native
Andreas Scott made his debut for UNF, winning two doubles matches with
PJ Kotan as well as a straight-sets singles victory.
Spencer Dorosheff earned his first spring doubles win as an Osprey in tiebreaker fashion with sophomore
Breno Marques.
Upperclassmen
Jonas Hartenstein and
Rodrigo Crespo took home a 6-3 win against Georgia Gwinnett in doubles, while also adding a singles win apiece in straight-sets.
Kotan won handily, cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win while Marques also added a 6-2, 6-3 win in his singles match.
Bruno Vietri grinded out a hard-fought 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 win to close out the day.
All told, UNF won 10 of its 16 matches. Day two of three gets going tomorrow at 11 a.m.
