UNF Athletics Raises $53,110 Towards Nutritional Services
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Osprey Nation exhibited its support and generosity once again as UNF Athletics surpassed its fundraising goal for its "Fueling the Pursuit" initiative in conjunction with 904 Weekend 2022 presented by CEM Foundation. The department raised $53,110Â through the help of 192 donors, with the funds going towards enhancing nutritional services, counseling and support.
The goal of $20,000 raised was eclipsed by $33,100, which is also a $28,110 increase from last year's record-setting year. The CEM Foundation played a significant part in the success of this year's effort as it donated $30,000, $20,000 of which came as a matching gift total.
"I am so appreciative of the many donors who contributed to the accomplishment of our goal of providing nutritional guidance and resources to our 300-plus student-athletes," Director of Athletics Nick Morrow said. "Achievement of "The Pursuit" is not possible without community support and I am so encouraged by the commitment made to our Ospreys this 904 Weekend."
The money raised will be used to help provide more resources in areas such as meal plans, nutrition education workshops, nutritional counseling and more.Â
Since the inaugural 904 Day was launched in 2020, UNF has achieved a great total donation amount each year due to the generosity of the UNF community and supporters, as well as the hard work of the UNF Development department and Osprey Club.Â
"Our supporters and advocates of UNF Athletics are amazing," Senior Associate AD of Development Matt Lisiewski said. "From community leaders, alums, parents, staff and current student-athletes, everyone understands the value of the UNF student-athlete experience and they are passionate about providing opportunities to our current and future Ospreys. We are so thankful for every single participant this year. 904 Weekend capitalizes on the power of giving as we further our mission of providing an elite experience to our student-athletes."

"For the third consecutive year a team effort allowed us to accomplish record-breaking revenue numbers raised to support health and nutritional services. #OspreyNation has once again shown that they support providing championship resources for all of our student-athletes, coaches and staff."

>> "For our student-athletes, proper nutrition is essential to their overall development. Working directly with our athletic trainers and strength and conditioning coaches, our team dietician will help plan individual meal plans and provide educational workshops for optimal results and maximum performance."
UNF's "904 Weekend" campaign is initiated by UNF's Osprey Club and development office with the intent to raise money directly for enhancing UNF Athletics' nutritional services. CEM Foundation serves as the presenting partner for this year's "904 Weekend", having generously contributed $10,000 towards health and nutritional support for UNF Athletics, with matching gifts all the way up to $20,000.
The area code 904 covers a five-county region of Northeast Florida, including the counties of Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Nassau and Baker, and is the home for more than 50,000 UNF alumni.Â
The "Fueling the Pursuit" tagline runs hand-in-hand with the newly released North Florida Athletics Five Year Strategic Plan, titled, "The Pursuit."
