9/27/2022 5:30:00 PM

SKOKIE, Ill. - Robbie Higgins finished off an incredible week of play to secure his first-career medalist crown title at the Windon Memorial Classic on Tuesday afternoon.

After finishing as the runner-up at two events last season, including the ASUN Championship, Higgins finally broke through at Northwestern with personal-best 18-hole and 54-hole scores. He also recorded the sixth top-10 finish of his career, as well as his 13th top-25 finish.

Higgins becomes UNF's 23rd unique individual title winner, while also bringing home the Ospreys' 37th all-time medalist crown. He also becomes the first tournament winner for the program since Nick Gabrelcik won the ASUN Championship this past season.

The Ospreys as a team took a share of fourth in the event at 8-over after having three players among the top 35 individuals. UNF finished ahead of programs such as Memphis, Indiana, Wisconsin and South Florida.

CLUBHOUSE CHATTER

"Congrats to Robbie [Higgins] on his first collegiate win. It was a nice one to get. Our team finish was okay, but we just made too many mistakes to really compete to win. The guys need to clean that up if we want to be really good."
-- head coach Scott Schroeder
