Ospreys Outshoot Dolphins, 14-4
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -Â Despite knocking on the door of a go-ahead or equalizing goal all night long, UNF women's soccer (1-4-1, 0-1-0 ASUN) was clipped by an in-form Jacksonville Dolphins (4-0-2, 1-0-0 ASUN) team, 1-0, in the ASUN opener Sunday, Sept. 18 from a damp Southern Oak Stadium. A JU header on one of two of the Dolphins' corner kicks found the back of the net just minutes before the first half expired.
The box score reflected UNF's offensive opportunities, as the Ospreys outshot JU, 14-4, while creating eight corner kicks to just a pair for the hosts.
Two of UNF's most notable opportunities featured impressive goalkeeping and backline play by JU. Jersi Dadah forced an acrobatic save from JU keeper Murphy Sheaff, who deflected the ball to the ground and had it cleared by JU's Demetria Wilson before UNF's Allie Fekany could score on a rebound.
Haynes Grant sent a rocket on goal from around 10 yards out in the 88th minute, but JU's Sheaff managed to corral the shot and snuff out UNF's final push.

Inside the Match
- First Half: Gabby Daly was a spark for the Ospreys in the opening ten minutes, providing good technical work in the JU half … she put up two shots that blocked by the Dolphins … as the game approached the thirty minute mark, the Ospreys were outshooting JU, 5-0 … seconds before the halftime whistle, JU converted the game's lone goal off a corner kick … Hayley Friedl sent a nice cross into the box that was headed home just inside the right post by Anna Remensnyder.
- Second Half: The Ospreys started applying heavy pressure around the sixty minute mark, putting a flurry of chances on goal, many of which came from Dadah's right foot … UNF hit double digit shots yet again as the second half went on … Dadah was the stand out player for the Ospreys in the second half, with three shots … JU only had three shots in the second half, as UNF controlled the ball for 56 percent of the contest.
