Carroll and Vietri Win Doubles Bracket Title at UCF Fall Sizzler

Duo Tops Stetson’s Pair, 6-3

LAKE NONA, Fla. - Just one fall tournament in and North Florida men's tennis brought home a fall doubles bracket title as Matt Carroll and Bruno Vietri defeated Stetson's duo in the UCF Fall Sizzler Fire Doubles Bracket final Sunday, Sept. 18 from the USTA National Campus.

The duo went 3-0 on the weekend, not including a walkover in the semifinals. Carroll and Vietri topped two pairs from Stetson and another from Cornell on the way to the title.

Rodrigo Crespo was also vying for a singles title Sunday, although his impressive run came up short in the final match against Mehdi Benchakroun of UCF, 6-2, 6-4. Crespo went 3-1 in singles, earning wins against foes from UCF, Stetson and Georgia Southern.

UNF continues its fall season at the Clemson Hidden Duals Friday, Sept. 23.
