BOISE, Idaho - After posting a top-2 finish at the Korn Ferry Tour's Albertsons Boise Open event Aug. 18-21, former North Florida men's golfer Philip Knowles took home a -21 total and more importantly, a PGA Tour card.
The Bradenton, Fla., native and 2019 UNF graduate started off scorching hot, posting a first round score of 61 on Thursday. He would eventually play in a three-way tiebreaker playoff on the final day before finishing tied for second with MJ Daffue. Vanderbilt University alumni Will Gordon would win the playoff hole and the event.
It was Knowles' second top 10 finish of the year after posting a top 10 mark in the Pinnacle Bank Championship just a week ago.
While at UNF, KNowles was a two-time PING All-American, three-time PING All-Southeast Region selection and one-time ASUN Player of the Year.
