Women’s Soccer Captain Nets Highlight Reel Goal Against Mexico
TORREON, COAHUILA, Mexico - North Florida women's soccer's Ariana Munoz made the most of her international debut as she scored Peru's lone goal in an international FIFA friendly against Mexico Saturday, June 25.Â
The North Florida captain scored with her left foot off a cross from the wing during extra time in the first half, tying the match up 1-1 at the time.Â
Munoz earned the start and didn't miss a minute of the friendly match. The Jacksonville, Fla., native and two-year letterwinner made the team after a tryout period earlier this month. Peru squares off again against Mexico June 28.
