Bishop Kenny Graduate Arrives to UNF as Transfer from Wofford
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida head women's soccer coach Eric Faulconer announced the addition of Jacksonville area transfer, midfielder Sophia Hayag, to the 2022 fall roster. Hayag joins the Ospreys as a sophomore after playing one season at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Ht.: 5-1
Class: Sophomore
Hometown: Jacksonville, Fla.
Previous School: Wofford College

Club Team: Jacksonville FC ECNL
Coach Faulconer's Words on Sophia:
"Sophia is a creative and extremely technical soccer player," said head coach Erc Faulconer. "She has a very high soccer IQ and can create and score goals. We recruited Sophia heavily as a youth player because she had the attributes we were looking for as a possession orientated midfielder. I believe players need to find the right fit for their style of play and Sophia will have the opportunity to flourish here because of the quality she brings to the field. Sophia is now fully healthy and our staff is confident we will get the very best out of her. She is very excited about joining our program. The relationship we built with her during the recruiting process is now bringing her back home and we can't wait to see what she will bring to our team."Â Â
Hayag was ranked by Top Drawer Soccer as a top 15 player in Florida with a three-star rating out of Jacksonville FC Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and Bishop Kenny HS in 2021. The River City native won the 2020 Class 4A Florida High School State Championship with current Osprey, Haynes Grant. She was an All-Southeast Conference ECNL selection at JFC. After recovering from a lengthy injury, Hayag appeared in seven contests for Wofford, notching an assist.
