CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - No. 86 nationally-ranked
Dominik Barton concluded his season in the round of 64 at the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championships against No. 19 and 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, JJ Tracy, of Ohio State Monday, May 23.
Barton dropped the decision, 6-2, 6-1, finishing his year as the first Osprey to reach the NCAA Singles Championships since Osprey great Jack Findel-Hawkins did so in 2016.
The Koprivnice, Czech Republic, native was ranked nearly all season in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles poll, situating himself well in earning the automatic bid from the ASUN Conference after earning a myriad of marquee wins during the ITA Southeast Regional last fall.
Barton went 5-3 in tournament singles play this season while contributing with some late-spring wins after missing the early parts of the spring season due to injury.
