JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (39-15, 16-8 ASUN) is ready to take on the tournament field as the No. 3 seed in the ASUN Championship this week from the UNF Softball Complex.
UNF will take on No. 6 Kennesaw State in the first round Wednesday, May 11 at 3 p.m. A win would send North Florida to the next round to play against No. 2 Central Arkansas, while a loss would send them to the loser's bracket.
The Ospreys have played six of the seven opponents in the tournament field with No. 4 North Alabama being the only opponent they haven't faced yet this season. They are a combined 11-7 against teams in the field with series wins against No. 7 Stetson and No. 8 Lipscomb, as well as sweeps against No. 2 Central Arkansas and No. 6 Kennesaw State.
UNF has its sights set on its first ASUN Championship title in program history, as they will play host to the ASUN Softball Tournament for the first time since joining the conference. They look to take their historic season to the next level and make the conference's title game for the second time in the past three seasons.
