Baserunning, Bullpen and Four-Run Sixth Key Baseball’s 5-3 Win Against JU

Ospreys Clinch Series Win Against Crosstown Rivals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Down 3-0 after the top of the second inning, North Florida baseball scored five unanswered runs while the UNF pitchers spun seven-straight scoreless innings to finish the game in a 5-3 win for Ospreys against Jacksonville Saturday, April 9 from Harmon Stadium.

Despite taking the no-decision, lefty Peter Holden was effective again in his second weekend start of the year. The southpaw fanned a season-best nine batters in 5.2 innings of work as he allowed just two-earned runs on four hits and four walks.

Jason Gonzalez earned the win with two scoreless frames, and Stephen Halstead secured his fifth save of the year. The duo of Gonzalez and Halstead combined to only allow two walks, while not permitting a hit.

Aidan Sweatt tallied a team-high two RBI and the North Florida (13-19, 4-7 ASUN) baserunners ran rampant on the Dolphins (15-13, 3-8 ASUN), swiping six bags.
