JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Despite a multi-home run game and five-scoreless innings from lefty
Zach Chappell, Boston College scored 10-unanswered runs as North Florida dropped game two of the series, 10-4, Saturday, March 5.
Justin Holmes and
Dallen Leach both tallied their first home runs in a North Florida uniform and
Zach Chappell struck out a career-best seven batters, taking the no decision.
UNF (2-10) led 4-0 heading into the top of the eighth before BC (4-4) tied it up and then scored six runs in the ninth.

Behind the Line Score
- Justin Holmes took the first pitch he saw and deposited over the wall for a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning.
- UNF manufactured two runs in the second inning. A pair of walks was followed by a single through the right side off the bat of Tyler Gerteisen. The ball was kicked as BC's second baseman reached out to make the play in the hole, allowing UNF to move up 90 feet. A wild pitch followed, scoring Drew Leinenbach.
- Dallen Leach got in on the long ball action, belting one to straightaway left field off the video board netting. UNF led 4-0 after four. Abraham Sequera nearly made it 7-0 Ospreys in the fourth, but a deep fly was reeled in at the wall.
- Brock Edge made a sliding snow cone grab in the UNF bullpen to get the Ospreys out of the fifth, stranding two BC runners.
- The Eagles finally got their bats going, tying the game in the eighth with four runs. Joe Vetrano hit an RBI ground rule double one batter before Parker Landwehr tied the game on a three-run homer.
- Six straight BC batters reached base in the ninth as the visitors took a 9-4 lead. A pair of RBI doubles and an infield single that led into a throwing error plated five. Another came in via a wild pitch.
- UNF was retired in the ninth as BC scored 10 unanswered.
