1,070 Donors Contribute $316,282.18, Blue & Gray Bash Brings in $112, 746 in Gross Revenue
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Last week, North Florida Athletics presented the 50-Hour Giving Challenge, and there's no doubt that Osprey Nation rose to that challenge. The final totals are in, and North Florida Athletics achieved new heights in fundraising milestones from both the Blue and Gray Bash as well as the 50-Hour Giving Challenge.
The 50-Hour Giving Challenge raised $316, 282.18 from 1,070 donors, while February's Blue & Gray Bash generated $112, 746 in gross revenue thanks to over 200 attendees and nearly 300 registered bidders. Both marks obliterated previous records.
"The 2022 UNF Giving Challenge and Blue & Gray Bash were both an incredible success," North Florida Director of Athletics Nick Morrow said. "For the third year in a row, we have set a new standard. To the UNF fans, friends and families, thank you so much for your support! Your passion for the Ospreys is outstanding and it is contagious. I'm excited about the momentum happening at UNF and I believe the best is still to come. Thank you again, and go Ospreys!"
North Florida had a 55 percent increase in total money raised from last year to this year, while also accruing a 26 percent increase in total donors. To boot, the 2022 total was greater than the previous four years of fundraising on Giving Day combined.
A total of 110 donors contributed specifically to the athletic scholarships annual fund. Men's golf benefited from 109 donors, the most donors for any men's sport, while volleyball notched a women's-sports high at 117. Men's golf and women's golf respectively led the men's and women's intercollegiate athletics teams in total dollars raised.
"We are deeply grateful for the support during our recent giving challenge," Senior Associate AD of Development Matthew Lisiewski said. "What a remarkable showing from Osprey Nation. To have over 1,000 donors and raise over $316,000 for our department is simply incredible. Those numbers represent a 26 percent increase in the number of donors and a 55 percent increase in total dollars raised from last year. Thank you to the UNF community for making our giving challenge a huge success. Your support is and will continue to be meaningful. SWOOP!"
The 2022 Giving Challenge elapsed 50 hours in honor of the university's 50th anniversary. Each individual scholarship donation was met with an additional $10 donated by Director of Athletics Nick Morrow.
