Swimming Sees Top 10 Times and Personal Bests on CCSA Championship Day Two

CCSA Championships Day 2 Results

LYNCHBURG, Va. - A handful of Ospreys posted personal-best marks, while multiple program top-ten times were set on day two of North Florida's stay at the CCSA Championships in Lynchburg, Va., Thursday, Feb. 17. The Ospreys finished just 0.77 seconds off the program record in the 200 free relay to open the day.

The Ospreys remain ahead of Bellarmine and behind Gardner-Webb with two days remaining.

Swimming on day three begins with the 100 free prelims.

Finals Qualifiers

Ashley Cozad reached the finals in two individual events and also competed as the leading leg of the 200 free relay, placing a time of 23.89. That mark was good for eighth best in UNF history, tied with Marcia Shaw from the opening session.
Cozad took second in the B cut 100 fly final and also posted a personal best in the 200 free.
Makenzie Blaakman shaved nearly three seconds off her seed time in the 400 IM.
Annie Fletcher posted a personal best during the 4x100 medley relay, good for ninth in UNF's top-ten list.

Coach Coffey's Comments
"I'm really happy with the way we started off the night with the 200 freestyle relay. We were just 0.77 seconds off the school record, with Ashley Cozad coming up with a time of 23.89, same time as Marcia Shaw from the morning session, good for eighth place in the top-10 list at UNF."

"From there we went into the 100 fly. Ashley Kephart had a really good swim in that event, and in the 400 IM Makenzie did a really good job of working hard and getting her places up. In the 200 free, Ashley had a really good swim and Ashley Cozad battled and came back to post a personal best."

"We finished up the night with the 200 medley relay, seeing solid swims. Annie Fletcher had her best time, placing ninth in our top ten list. Tomorrow we have a lot of swimmers going, so we should get a lot of swimmers back earning points. See everyone then."
